This time the theme is: “A journey through the constellations of the Summer Triangle”. From 21 clock the observatory Riesa has open and there are telescopes directed towards the sky. The constellations Cygnus, Lyra and Eagle are the typical summer constellations. Also the summer constellations, planets and the moon will be observed.

On this summer evening, a beautiful constellation between Jupiter and the moon can be observed the whole night. In this night, some summer constellation such as, swan, lyre, eagle, scorpion and many more can be considered.

In the time from 8:00 p.m to 10 p.m. a partial lunar eclipse can be observed at the Observatory in Riesa. The moon does not appear completely in the core shadow. Only in the half shadow of the earth.

At the winter night sky we can see a lot of fascinating objects. On of the most famous is the orion nebula which you can find in the constellation Orion and is a big emissions  neblua. It is about 1350 lightyears awwy from the earth.

At this day you can visit the observatory Riesa at 6 o’clock to have a look at this and other objects.

At this day a star occultation by the moon takes place. The half moon covers the star Aldebaran, the main star of the constellation taurus. The observatory opens from 5pm to 7pm at this day. You can visit our observatory and enjoy this event.

The moon is the faithful companion of the earth. At full moon you can see a lot of details on the surface of the moon like craters, seas and highlands. A lot of details you can not see with the naked eye.  At this day you can come to the observatory at 6 o’clock in the evening.

At the 16th day of astronomie you have th chance to visit the observatory Riesa. You can discover a lot of things and over the day we can observe the sun with different telescops if the weather is good. At 10:14am the moon rises, which means that also a moon observation at the day should be possible. In the evening you can see the winter constellations with the brightest star Sirius. At 11pm the Jupiter rises and could be observed.

After the day of astronomie the earth hour will take place. For this worldwide action the light will be turned of for one hour. With this action a sign for climate protection should be marked. To this days observation the Venus will be visible as evening star. The Venus is visible as a very bright “star”. The observation will start at 8pm after the presention at the observatory.

Mercery is the smallest planet in our solarsystem. This planet is very near to the sun and hard to observ, but sometimes there possibilities. At this day the team of the observatory Riesa will meet at the airfield Canitz to observ mercury at hopefully good conditions.

At this night the falling stars of the Leoniden could be observed at the night sky which has its sorce at the star sign Leo. At this evening the Observatory Riesa will meet at the airfield Canitz at 9 p.m. Who will attend in the observation should bring warm cloth.
